In the beginning of my pregnancy, I'm not exactly sure of the week but maybe between weeks 8 & 10, for about 3 days I would feel this strong pulling and aching in my lower stomach (RLP) which I gather is the baby and uterus growing. I haven't felt it at all since then but last night in my sleep it started up. I rolled over and seriously felt like I pulled a muscle in the lower right side of my stomach about an inch or so from my hip bone. (The baby has been snuggly positioned on my left side for a few weeks now). Then today, all along my lower stomach I'm feeling the RLP type of pulling and aching. About 30 mins ago I started getting SUPER sharp stabbing pain in the same area as the pain last night that would shoot down into my groin area and last about 20 seconds.
So...I was just wondering if there were certain times throughout the pregnancy when the baby and/or uterus has "growth spurts". Does the baby grow a set amount of inches and lbs/ounces all at once a few times during pregnancy? Are there like, "set" times during pregnancy when the body knows that it needs to grow and make room? I may sound completely dumb but I'm not sure how to word this and I hope you understand. TIA.

This is what I've heard.
I asked the Dr. about this a few weeks ago because I felt like a bottomless pit for a few days where all I would do is eat. She said that that was because the baby was going through a growth spurt. I think it was around wk 27- 28, but iam not sure.
