I am making chili for dinner. DH's cousin just stopped over to pick up some books and she asked what I was making and I told her chili and she said she has never heard of chili with beans.
I know I have heard of it, but I always put beans (light and dark kidney beans) in it.

She puts meat, tomatoes, spices and get this - coffee.
I would be terrified to try that.
I have had chili with coffee in it. It deepens the flavor and is good. I've had it with chocolate too.
I put beans in mine, but I have heard that "real" chili doesn't have beans in it.
Always. I usually make vegetarian chili and how can you make a vegetarian chili without beans?
Even when I make chili with meat it has beans.
Yes, this. I use whatever I have on hand, but it's usually a mix of white beans, kidney beans, and black beans.
