In Florida in a heated outside pool?
I know ds is going to insist on swimming (at least for a short time). I know the ocean will be too cold to go in (which is fine with him since he prefers the pool anyway), but the only other option is the outside heated pool. (not sure what it's heated too as it is a public pool).
I did buy him a swim shirt (not that it will help "that" much).
WDYT? Too cold?
I'm not looking forward to going in with him, but I will for him. :-)
Re: Is high 60's low 70's too cold to swim?
we took ds in the heated FL pool in upper 70's. upper 60's is a little cold for me.
DS takes swim lessons outdoors year-round (So. Cal), and right now it's often in the lower 60s (last week it was only about 60 and starting to rain - yuck) - the water temp is really the key - the pool here is heated to 86 degrees, so it's lovely when you get in and while you're swimming (not so when you get out, though - brrrrrrr!) If the water temp isn't warm enough, though, I'm guessing it could get pretty cold pretty quickly!
Things that help when it's cooler outside - long-sleeve swim shirt or neoprene suit and two towels for each person - one for right when you get out to soak up the first wave of water, then a second one after the wet suit comes of to finish drying and warm up until you're able to get dressed
Have fun
