We went to the dr yesterday and she said that Jackson has eczema on his chest and neck. She told me to use hydrocortisone and Aquaphor on it.
He also has extremely dry patches on his cheeks and up into his hair. I didn't mention it when we were at the doctor (because it wasn't that bad)... any suggestions for what I can put on his face? I think that the hydrocortisone may be too harsh for his sensitive little face.
I have been using Johnson's Baby Lotion and Khiels but it doesn't seem to be doing much....
Re: Dry patches on LO's face
I have a big tub of it... I slather it on him at night and in the morning, it just doesn't seem to be doing anything for him.
I've used the hydocortisone. He has sensitive skin, as do i, but it was fine. Only once a day and not every day. I swear it clears up SO fast! I know some babies who need a perscription for Hydrocortisone which means that its even stronger than the OTC.
I'd recommend using it.
Evan has the same thing, all over his body. The pedi said to use aquaphor on it, especially after bath time, to lock in moisture. Also said to keep a humidifier on in the room if your house is dry. This has helped immensley.
Also, I was using vaseline, but pedi said that wasn't good. Didn't say why though...::shrugs::
We have eczema too!
Our pedi also suggested 1% hydrocortisone cream and aquaphor or triple cream. We have been using the hydrocortisone cream for a few days and its getting better. DS does have a dry patch on his face and I was concerned about using it on his cheek. I will give it a try since it seems like it may work.
