Breakthrough with the dog....

Shelby just came up to Molly and sniffed her---Molly then pulled her fur and instead of growling Shelbs gave her kisses. I tried showing Molly how to pet the dog, but she doesn't seem to understand that yet, she just wants to pull her fur. I told Shelby what a good girl she is to show that this was the proper behavior to exhibit around Molly.

This made me feel SO much better. I was so worried that the dog and Molly weren't going to get along after the growling the other day.

Congrats!! Glad to hear that things are ok now!

We were worried about our dog too. He's just a year old, and was spoiled before DD was born, and he's a big Daddy's boy so we were worried how he would react to DH holding and being around DD. He was jealous at first and wanted nothing to do with DD. But now everytime I put her on the floor or she's in her exersaucer he goes over and kisses her while he wags his tail!! So relieved that he seems to "like" her!!

That's great!  LO is so rough on our dogs (dachshund and beagle).  She LOVES the dogs, but is constantly grabs their hair, ears, etc and pulls on them like crazy.  I don't know why the dogs sit there and take it instead of running away.  We are trying to teach DD to be gentle with the dogs, but I think we have a while before she understands it.

Good!  It would break my heart if there were turmoil between my LO and my dog:-(
