Pampers smell and blow-outs

I've been away for awhile so if this is a redundant post I apologize.

I'm having a problem, my DS has been having blow-outs since I can remember. He's EBF and he's been having blowouts every couple of days and I know he's in the right size diaper (3) at 17 lbs. We've tried Cruisers, Baby Dry and Huggies Lil Movers. Any suggestions?

Also, is it just me or do the Pampers Cruisers have a horrible chemical smell when they're wet? DS #1 uses them and I noticed it with him about a month ago and then with DS#2 when we tried them on him too. The smell is another reason we're getting rid of the Pampers Cruisers.

    Ive just always loved Huggies Lil Movers... only a fan of anything Pampers at the newborn and size 1 stage.

    I think we've only dealt with blowouts maybe 3 times in the past 6 months or so that DD#1 has been wearing the Lil Movers size 3.
