Not STTN & requesting extra night feedings...HELP

What is going on? It's like she is getting worse.  She wakes up on average 3 times a night to feed.  Last night it was 5 times.  11:30, 2:30, 4:35, 7:15.  Each feeding she drank 3 to 4 oz.

I'm exhausted and just figured she would start giving me a break at this point.  Maybe I'm just misinformed?

Plus AF is coming  and my supply is tanking so  I had to give her 8oz of formula.  Is this normal?  I'm also going to the pedi on Monday for her 4month checkup.

  • 4 month wakeful maybe??  A growth spurt??  Who knows...

    How was she sleeping before??

My DD had gotten down to 1 middle of the night feeding - which I was perfectly happy with.  But this past week she's been getting up 2-3 times and eating 3-5oz each time.  I'm guessing growth spurt.

  • You could be entering the 4 month wakeful period...this was about the same time my DD was waking up every 1.5 hrs at night. We modified sleep training at about 4.5 months and now she sleeps mostly through the night.  Definitely talk to your pedi, but it could be just a more alert baby, wanting momma and eating because it's habit....hang in there.
  • We have hit a rough spot as well in her sleeping and feedings.  I am blaming the 4month wakeful period as well.
  • Sounds like the 4 mo. wakeful period/growth spurt. My DD ate every 2 hours (sometimes even more frequently) during the day and went back to waking once a night a couple of times. It lasted about 2/2.5 weeks. Just keep BF her, because your supply will catch up and she'll settle down.
