2nd Trimester

To 2nd time Moms that tore with #1.....

So I had a bad 4th degree tear with #1.  I healed relatively quickly and well and it never seemed to really bother me until a few weeks ago it seems to be real tender again all of a sudden.  Anyone else experience this?

  • i was cut, and I havent had issues with it, though I feel more pressure down there when I sit sometimes, which is due to more blood flow I guess. I know my sister has three kids and with her first  she had a stitch that hadnt dissolved all the way, and had to get it removed when she had her second.

  • I "only" had a 2nd degree tear in 3 different spots (good times!) and, like you, I healed very quickly.

I have felt a little sore lately, and it's so funny you brought this up b/c it started to hurt worse last night.  I'm sure as the pressure increases, it's just going to get worse.  Sounds like fun!

  • I only had a second degree tear. It took awhile to heal initially, but since then, I haven't had a problem. <knock on wood>

  • I tore, but I dont know to what degree (I know it was bad as I lost alot of blood and they were watching me to see if I needed a blood transfusion).  I healed quickly though and while I am not tender yet, I feel much weaker in that area and every time I sneeze I feel like something might come out!  Weird
  • oh my gosh...i was wondering why it seemed so tender!! I didn't even think of the tear..mine was bad! I think I got 18 stitches or something ridiculous..also lost a ton of blood. I was thinking it was just a 2nd pregnancy thing to be sore but this makes a lot more sense...
  • I had a 3rd degree tear and it took quite a long time for it to heal.  I had plevic floor pain for about 4 months after giving birth.  Not fun.  With that said I haven't had any tear related problems since.  I have had on going incontinence issues (basically I just have to make sure that I squeeze down there when I sneeze) but that's it.

I haven't read anything in my pregnancy books about there being pain down there with subsequent pregnancies, but it makes sense.  Have you been constipated lately?  That would definitly put stress on the area.
