OK ladies an "oldie" from ttcal needs your opinions

I am using a CBEFM for the 1st time this cycle. I keep getting highs for the past 6 days with no peak. However, when I thought I was ovulating I used a digital smiley face OPK and it was + with a BIG OLD SMILE! So, do you think I actually ovulated? Has this happened to anyone else and got pregnant that cycle. I am soo frustrated and ready to throw in the towel. All I want is to be pregnant. FWIW, we have had sex for the past 7 nights and I don't know if we should continue if I didn't ovulate yet. I am on cd 15 and the + was 3 days ago. I used the CBEFM too. Sometimes it really would take that long for me to get a Peak but it would usually coincide with the OPKs that I was doing as well.  I am going to guess that you already did O...I have always heard that it takes the CBEFM machine at least a month to "get to know'" you so maybe that's what's happening in your case?  Honestly, I've called their hotline too and that's what they told me. GL!!!!

i never use the cbefm but i think it makes sense that the first cycle may be a "get to know you" cycle. what's it reading now? what are the opks reading? i hope you o'ed and this is your cycle!

Hey, girl!

I used the CBEFM for over a year and had no luck. I had longer cycles (33-35 days) and always saw 5-6 high fertility days before seeing a peak LH surge around CD 18/19. I always saw a peak for 2 days then it automatically gave me a high day after that.  I never did compare a regular OPK to the monitor...I wish I had.

I also know that I concentrated too hard on the high and peak days and ignored the several days afterwards. The month I got pg, I caught the very end of my surge and we had sex that night and the next night. I used Robitussin due to a cold that cycle, too which I never tried before. I think I ovulated 2-3 days after the surge and wasn't timing it right. I would go with the OPK and make sure to cover several days after it, too.

I used the CBEFM too and the first cycle was all wacky from it being so long..then the next cycle I was on clomid and got a few high days and then got my two peak days, I got the peak days a day after my pos opk...sometimes it just takes a day or two for you body to your gear up to O and the Peak days happen right when you are about to O and the opk's can be a couple days before...

are you temping too?? that would tell you for sure if you have Oed or not...

good luck! I only used the monitor two cycles and we got our bfp!

I knew I could count on you ladies for some comforting advice. I got the + 2 days ago so we are going to still give a deposit to the bank one more time tonight:) My OB says that after the + he doesn't think I actually release my egg for 2 days later. Thanks again, Heidi

Hey there! 

In my definitely ovulatory cycles, my +OPK would correlate with the Peak on the CBEFM (or sometimes come the afternoon before the Peak).

In my weak ovulatory or anovulatory cycles, I'd get ten bazillion highs without ever getting a Peak, but sometimes I would have +OPK then not ovulate then have another +OPK then finally ovulate (by temp shift).  These were my longer, more wonky cycles.

If this is your first cycle using the monitor, it may also still be trying to get to know you.

I want to wish you the best of luck.  I know how frustrating it is to just want to be pregnant again already, and I hope your time comes very soon!

I used a CBEFM for a few cycles with no luck.  One cycle(June) I ovulated super early and I just continously got highs until AF showed up. We had no timing that month b/c DH was out of town until the day after I O'ed.

I hope this cycle is it for you guys! The cycle I got my BFP I was so sure it didn't happen, so sure I didn't even test until 14 dpo and my chart was super ugly. The link is in my siggy and it has the info for the cycles I used OPK's and the CBEFM. GL!

THIS! I've also heard the CBEFM takes a month or two to get to know you. I hope this is it for you! Gheesh, 7 days! That's awesome amounts of booty :-)

Hi Heidi! I'd say there may be a learning curve with that thing. You probably did O, but I don't know if I'd want to stop bding just in case. Maybe one more night if you're up for it? What day do you normally O? I was all over the map over the course of ttc (cd 13 to cd20). Also are you temping or recording cm? That might help you decide if you need to keep bding. GL!!

I usually O on cd 14 like clockwork. I got the + on cd 12 so it will be interesting to see what happens. I am on cd 15 today. We aren't giving up yet just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

I've never used CBEFM, but I did use OPK's.  I'd say if you got a smiley face on the OPK, you probably O'd. Thats what happened to me and it was right!

Best of luck! And FWIW, I think you can probably stop BD'ing now (unless you wanna continue of course! )
