TTC after 35

Please help me stay positive

My beta for IVF #3 is on Tuesday, but I'm having lots of "AF is around the corner" symptoms - sore boobs; headaches; etc.  I know that many women who are ultimately pg feel like AF is around the corner. And, I'm trying - really, really hard - to keep a positive attitude about this cycle.  Right now, I'm just not doing so well with that.  Can I lean on you wonderful women for a little bit and will you send me some positive thoughts?

Hoping for a more positive outlook tomorrow!

Re: Please help me stay positive

  • Well here's three for you!

    1. Many women (including me) have AF symptoms prior to a BFP.

    2.  #3 is a lucky number.

    3. See #1 again.

     :)

  • I had all of the symptoms you described & was shocked when the nurse called telling me I was pregnant.  I had been at the RE the morning of the beta looking at donor embryo profiles making plans for what I was sure was going to be the "sorry you're not pregnant" phonecall.  It sucks that the symptoms of AF mimic the ones of being pregnant.   Just hang in there a few more days.  I didn't POAS cause I wanted to hear the news, good or bad, from someone on the phone.  Have you thought about testing?

  • True about AF feelings before the BFP! Stay positive and wishing you the best!
  • Stay positive. Symptoms or lack of symptoms tell you nothing. Good luck!!

  • Wishing you luck.  When I got pg with DD, I was so sure that AF was coming that I didn't want to test again.  Imagine my shock when DH convinced me to test and we saw pink lines.  My AF symptoms were actually early pg symptoms.  Good luck!

  • The 3 BFP's that I've ever had were ALWAYS when I thought AF was coming to visit.  You could have knocked me over when I found out that I was PG.

Anything is possible and everything that you're describing could go either way.  My fingers are crossed for you and hoping for good news!

  • You girls rock - as always!  I feel better already.  Thank you!
