has anyone had to take LO for genetic testing due to blood test results?

apparently DD had mildly elevated amino acid test results and they want us to take her to some genetic metabolic testing clinic.  Her appointment isn't until April so I am trying not to get worked up about this as the doctor doesn't feel as though she needs to be seen sooner.  Please let me know if you have gone and your experience.  Thanks :)

    I have (see link to blog in siggy). My LO suffers from a rare genetic disorder called Galactosemia. I was picked up in his newborn screening, & though to be a carrier until he got very sick. That was when further testing revealed that he did have the disorder.

    If you LO is showing no symptoms, that might be why the doctor is not concerned with needing to see her sooner.
