My husband needs surgery.

He has a hernia. He's had it for like 6 months but it never hurt so he really didn't think anything of it. It finally started bothering him and got a little bigger so he went to the doctors.

Thank god I start getting paid in a week. That money is definitely going to come in handy while he is off work.

my husband has a hernia that has just been hurting him this week also...he has an appt. next friday, and i'm guessing that he will also have surgery...

 

do you know how long he will be off of work? hope all goes well for you and your family.....

When his dad had the surgery he was off work for 6 weeks. My husband goes and meets with the surgeon next Thursday. He is thinking it will be 6 weeks as well. He has a very physical job.

tell him to ask his doc about a laproscopic procedure, it's much less invasive much faster recovery. They make 3 small incisions in the abdomen and use tools to place a mesh sheet over the herniated area, they staple it in place and then you only have 3 tiny (3cm) scars. My hubby had this done about 5 years ago and really was only out for a week if that, took it easy for a total of a month (no lifting etc) and he was good to go.
