I have had a large lump and some soreness around my c-section scar since about 2 weeks pp and due to a bad experience with my ob and my insurance changing it was a pain trying to get it taken care of. I finally had an ultrasound today and am a little scared at how quickly they are moving now that they have seen the ultrasound. During the ultrasound the tech stopped and got the radiologist to do the rest, it was supposed to take about 5 minutes and it took over an hour of them looking. They then sent me up to my dr even though my appointment with her to talk about it isn't until next week. They ordered a CT scan for tomorrow and are booked up so a tech is coming in early to do my scan.
They are thinking there is a large fluid filled sac that goes from above my belly button all along the entire left side of my abdomen down to my pubic bone and across my tummy. They also think there is at least one hernia and possibly more.
I am somewhat relieved because I have been having such a hard time losing weight and fitting into my clothes and they said that it is because of how big the masses are. I thought it was just fat and loose skin, I try not to poke around at the lump becauase it grosses me out!
Has anyone had anything like this? What was the treatment? They say I will need surgery for the hernias for sure, and soon as they could not get anything to go back to where it was supposed to go. For the fluid filled sac they said they may just let my body re-absorb it, but are concerned that that could take a very long time as it has only been getting bigger. They say that they may have to intervene and get rid of the fluid sacs but I am not sure how. The lump/hard spot that sticks out is about the size of a cantalope.
