Does the spelling "Sofia" bother you?

Isn't it the traditional Italian spelling?  It really doesn't bother me as it's not made-up.  It would especially not bother me if I knew the family was of Italian heritage.

Yea I kind of agree.  We're not exactly naming after the family member, but thought it was a way to change it up since Sophia is sooooo popular.  This is a 2nd twin name if we end up with two girls that we can agree on.

We were in Italy last year, and saw this spelling a few times.  I think it is fine, and it is all about what you guys like anyway!

It's the "original" spelling for Italian/Spanish. Sophia is the Greek spelling.

Sofia is usually the spelling from languages that don't pronounce ph as f.  It doesn't bother me at all. I do prefer the Sophia spelling but I don't consider Sofia youneek.

Sofia is actually the most prealent spelling around the world. It's used a lot in Spain and Italy as well as in other European countries. I prefer it to Sophia.
