Working Moms

Let's do an "AW my kids" post!

I am SO in love with my boys right now. They were late talkers and now they are just talking a mile a minute! Last night at dinner they were able to tell us all about their day at school and really have a conversation! Like a totally cool around the dinner table discussion. I mean, we weren't talking politics, but you know what I mean!

Doesn't it just get more and more fun as they grow up?

Re: Let's do an "AW my kids" post!

  • Took the kids to the doctor today.  DS was crying and DD said, dont cry.  She then went and gave him a kiss and a hug.  When she cried he tried to do the same for her.  Just wonderful!

Doesn't your heart just melt when they do stuff like that?  Love it.
  • We're goign thru a rough patch right now (sitter & sleeping issues galore) but my sweet little DD spontaneously tells me (Frequently)  "I love you so much Mommy...so much."  <swoon>  SHe's the best thing ever.
  • yes and no!  Mine are super sassy lately, which is still kind of funny.  DD has a habit of talking non-stop in the car now.  I usually have no idea what she's talking about (it is all nonesense stuff) and can't really concentrate on it when I"m driving.  It is still amusing.  The other day  she was talking about her dolly's eye on and on and on and was getting mad b/c I didn't know what she was trying to tell me about it.

My DS is sweet and sassy.  Last night he told me he had a secret to tell me (one of his favorite bedtime stall tactics).  When I bent down to hear the whisper he told me he loved me.  <3  but, on Saturday I asked him to clean something up for the umpteenth time and he said "settle down, mom" (thanks for that one, DH!).  It was a good thing he wasn't in the room with me b/c I was cracking up.

  • dd is a sponge.  she asks questions about everything!  she knows the planets now.  she's also sounding out letters and reading some small words.

ds has full blown conversations with us now.  he still loves to cuddle.  and he's able to put his train tracks together in the figure 8 now.  and he ate a chicken curry dish last night!!! he's my picky one.

and my fave.... they are best friends.  so fun to watch them play together.

  • My LO's always go to eachother when they hear the other one crying. I tell them "What is wrong with sissy? or "What happened?" They go to an try to kiss the crying one. It is so adorable!
  • We have a silly song we made up that spells out DD's name, and when we sing it to her we do the sign language for the letters.  The other day she was sitting by herself and not only saying the letters, but trying to do the signs.  She was doing them enough you could tell what she was aiming for even if she didn't have the dexterity to get her fingers right Big Smile.

  • DD STTN from 6 weeks-7 months in her crib in her room.  Around 7 months all of the sudden she got very clingy and would scream if we put her in her crib, so we started bed-sharing.

Thursday night she STTN in her own crib!!!

Over the weekend we all had a cold so we just brought her into our bed.

Last night...she STTN in her own crib AGAIN!

Thats our big news today Party!!!

  • Baby J has discovered the game "peek a boo!"  It is so incredibly adorable and I love when her chubby, little hands pull the blanket up over her eyes....
  • We stopped giving our 3 month old his paci because he can't keep it in for smiling so much.  He is constantly breaking out into this huge goofy grin.

  • Carson had a virus over the weekend and it was icky snow here.  So on Monday it snowed AGAIN!  and we were all home.

Carson takes his Diego Rescue pack and walks over to the door looks back at dh and says, "I goin to church, no you can't go daddy, you stay here, you sick, mommy go to church and me go to church, you stay here dad you sick"  pointing his finger at dh tisk tisk.

    lol!

  • DD loves babies and is so excited for her little brother.  When they bring babies from the infant room to visit the toddler room at school, she gets so excited.  At night when we're relaxing on the couch she'll pull up my shirt and say "Hi Baby" and wave.  She calls him "Daxie" because she can't say his name yet, and we're waiting for family to figure out what she's saying (the baby's name is Jackson but we haven't told anyone yet besides DD).

  • DD insisted on and completely undressed herself before her bath last night.

Her big thing right now at dinner is refusing to eat something and then I make a sad face and tell her I'd be SO happy if she just tried it.  So she takes a bite and then says "I tried it, Mommy. You happy now? Please? I give you hug."

She is a singing machine. She sings everything.  And lately has been making up songs which is so adorable.

  • It totally does.  I just got back home from a business trip and DD was so excited.  She kept repeating "My mommy home!!" throughout the night.  She wouldn't let my hand go as I put down my bags and then looked up at me and said earnestly "wanna come sit down by me and eat french fries?"  It was really cute.  Of course, she had a mini tantrum later on but par for the course.

DS just grinned, grabbed my hair and ear to pull me towards him so he could slobber over my face.  Which is code for he was excited to see me.

  • oh i have another, lol!

Carson is kicking butt on the big boy underwear both poop and pee.  I am so proud of him.  He has been wearing underwear for about 2 weeks now and it is great!

  • Here's the latest with my son:

    - He told me Miss Erika has another name and it's Lu Lu (meanwhile, I asked her and she said no one calls her Lu Lu!)

    - He won't let me interrupt while he's singing along with Thomas - he says 'Stop, mommy.  I'm singing.'

    - He keeps falling asleep on my daughter's boppy pillow on the floor of their room :) We find him when we go to sleep and put him back in his bed.

    - Last night he said 'I love you.  I'm going to give you huggies and kisses.' to both my husband and I.  How sweet is he?

  • I heard this conversation this morning over breakfast...

Andrew : Nicholas, what color are my pajamas?

    Nicholas: White

    Andrew:  No, in Spanish!

Nicholas:  Your pajamas are blanco Andrew.

This went on for about five minutes.  They were asking each other what color something was then saying it in English and Spanish.  I loved it because 1) they were getting along and 2) they have a great start on Spanish from their nanny.

  • Drew is a waving machine.  He's waving bye bye all the time.  So cute.

  • Aww thats Sweet! I have been sick lately with an upper respitory infection and yesterday it hit me pretty hard and i layed on the couch balling my eyes out and my 23 month old came out of her room and hugged me and rubbed my arm for about 5 minutes while i cryed and then i stopped she looked at me gave me a kiss on the cheek smiled real big and went and played with her blocks!! God i love her!! She consoled her momma when her momma was crying for her own momma!!
  • We take our LO out all the time and last night at dinner, she blew kisses to anyone who looked at her.  She has the sound effects too - muah!  She also waved bye bye to everyone we passed as we left the restaurant.  She does all this with a huge smile on her face.  When we got home she kept looking in my eyes and then opening her arms and giving me a big hug.  She is just so loving!

  • DD is talking so much!  I love it, and she is so funny when she learns something new.  A few days ago DH taught her to howl (he's been teaching the dog too.. LOL!)  It is so cute to hear her go "owwwww" in her little baby voice!  Adorable.
  • I got a big kiss this morning and after I said "I love you," she said it back for the first time. Tears.
  • My DD pee-peed in the potty yesterday--TWICE! Once at daycare and once at home.

She's only 21 months and has totally led the way on potty training.

  • My boys are playing together so nicely lately. And Matthias keeps helping Ezra do stuff. I just love watching them!

We've been looking at daycare options and I'm a little sad that they will probably be in separate rooms.
