Measuring 5 days behind at 2nd U/S...

Hello ladies!

After 2 consecutive losses, I am pregnant again!  I got a BFP on 1/27.  I went in for my first u/s on 2/4 and they just saw a gestational sac and the yolk sac was on the cusp of forming and I was measuring @ 5 weeks. I went in again today, and according to the last u/s I should be measuring 6w6d.  I am measuring 6w1d and we saw the yolk sac, fetal pole and heart beat at 111 bpm.  My doctor said she is sure I just ovulated later than we thought and the measurements from the u/s can be off by a 1/2 of week.  So I go back next Wednesday to make sure that the baby is growing and she also wants to see the heart rate get above 120.

I am sure everything will be fine, but I just need a little reassurance. Has anyone else experienced anything similar with a good outcome?

I was 5 days behind at my first u/s and we only saw a gestational sac. 5 days later I was measuring right on time and had a baby with a heartbeat. My doctor said as long as it was within the same week he wasn't worried. I think each baby has growth spurts at different times.

At my 1st u/s I was pretty sure I would be 7w1d and they measured me at 6w3d. We saw a little bean with a h/b of 130.

They had me come back at 10w3d and I was a day ahead of the date from the first u/s, and LO was dancing around perfectly.

Seeing the h/b is a fabulous sign - try not to worry. Good luck next Wed!!

Congrats first off! And don't worry about measuring behind. A IRL friend just delivered a healthy baby girl last week that measured over a week behind the entire pregnancy. I'm sure everything will be fine!

Yes. I measured 7 days behind even at my 10-week appt. We saw consistant growth so that was a good sign. I caught up by my 20 week appt and everything is great!
