I left work at 2:30 to drive to my Dr's office for my 20 week Ultrasound and Dr's appt. I got into my US right away around 3pm, and had my Dr's appt scheduled for 3:45.
Well, I was still having my US done until 5pm.
Everything looks great, but baby was uncooperative, so it took awhile to pin down all the parts for measurements. They determined that baby doesn't have club feet, doesn't have a cleft lip, the heart looks good, the skin thickness in the neck is normal(to check for downs), and weighs 13 ounces.
After that, I finally had my Dr's appt, which as you all know, is pretty short and just requires getting weighed (I only gained 1pound since my last appt!) having BP checked, and the Dr asking if I had any questions.
I also got my weekly Progesterone shot.
I will now have to go in every 2 weeks until I reach the point to go in weekly. I think that's unusual..isn't it? I'm only 20 weeks along.
We FINALLY left the building at quarter to 6pm. WHEW! ![]()
Re: My 2 hour Ultrasound Appt. and then some...
Sorry it was so long but at least it was a great outcome! Maybe they are seeing you every two weeks as a precaution? I don't know, I don't start going every two weeks until third tri.
I go every 2 weeks, and every other two weeks for an echo (so I am seen every week, since 18 weeks). I think it's just a precaution for high-risk patients.
Sometimes I think it is too much, but then I like the peace of mind...I go back and forth.
