cultured butter cream...please help

Hey ladies, so today DS and I made cinnabuns for my dh. But I just looked at the container for the buuter cream. It says it's cultured but says nothing about being pasturized. Can I eat one of the cinnabuns? I know this may be a stupid question for some of you but I really have no idea and don't want to take any chances... I didn't know who else to ask..

Did you bake the rolls?  I think that'd kill any crazy bacteria that could be harmful...

I drank a crap-load of unpasturized milk (was in Mexico) and LO is fine.  So I'm not sure how bad it really is....

I think if it's something sold generally in a grocery store, it's safe.  The only time you have to worry about it is if you are buying it specially or from a local farm or something.  I'd trust anything prepackaged to be pasteurized.

I'm confused - are you talking about the buttercream icing?  Or about an ingredient in the cinnamon buns themselves (which presumably have been baked)?

Thanks ladies. Yes it was an ingredient in the buns. And yes they were heated. Thank you for the info and the help. I am looking forward to eating one during American Idol
