"quarter". It will depend on how long you've worked and how much you've
made and how long it's been since (if ever) you received unemployment
in the past.
In Michigan, there us a minimum emplyment requirement--I think you have to have worked for 12 of the previous 18 months to qualify. And her payout is determined by what her employers contribution was to the benefit pool on her behalf (a % of her weekly wage) So she probably won't qualify and if she did, her check would probably be miniscule.
I would strongly urge her to go through with her plan if I were you--when she sees the outcome, the joke will be on her!
