S/O Re: how long would you "wait in line" to get a spot in anything?

My area has a highly rated gymnastics centre. People camp out overnight to get their preschooler into this place. Ridiculous.

got in line at 2:30 am on black friday about 4 yrs ago at walmart for the $298 laptop.  There only 50 of them and we were # 47 & 48.

Waited in line for 4 hours to get mine, my mom's and ds's H1N1 shot.

Black Friday sales, gymnastics classes, concert tickets, preschool, a chance to meet the personally meet the president- nope, none of it. I'm just not a waiting-out-all-night kind of gal.

I spent 12 hours (overnight) in 10 degree weather to get DH an Xbox 360 the Christmas they came out!  I was #14 in line of 400 people.  I got the Xbox!!

Depends on what it is...  For a good school I would wait a long time, for gymnastics, not so much...my kids aren't gonna be the kind of build (they are tall) that can be successful at gymnastics long term...so I know starting off that it's just for fun & for fun, I don't wait in line.

Maybe for a good deal on a house.  About a year ago a local builder had some awesome deals for the first 10 people who put a contract on each of their floor plans.  If we were planning a building a new house I would wait in line for that.
