What do you say when...

So I spent the weekend with my IL's. I got the comment several times that I don't even look pg. Now, while I don't have a pretty bump yet, I do have a bump/beer belly look going on. I was a little offended by the end of the weekend and asked DH just how fat his family thinks I am if I don't look pg then I must always look fat. He just laughed. So, when people say this to you, do you smile and say thanks? Or do you have a cute response?

I was at a party at 17?  18? weeks and still didn't look pg (I don't think I looked pg until yesterday, actually), but the news got out somehow.  My friends said it just looked like I ate a lot of broccoli!  They were cracking up.

 So yeah, I just smile and laugh.  What can I do?

Thats pretty annoying.... I would just smile and nod... and kill them in your head.

I would say "Aww neither do you...oh you're not pregnant...then I guess you're just fat." Sorry I'm no help I don't deal well with people making fat comments.

This would actually probably work well with the ILs. Everything in life is a joke, and they would see this comment as such. I don't know why I am even letting it bother me!

I am having the same issue (still).   

I always smile and say, "you're so sweet" because I'm sure they mean it as a compliment.  Then I go home and complain to DH and he always has some way of making me feel like I look completely pregnant and everyone else is just crazy. LOL
