DS is not the best eater, he's picky and some days it's a struggle to get him to eat. He'd rather play.
So I have not really let him experiment with utensils because my main concern is him eating. The times he has tried a fork or spoon 1/2 of it does not get in his mouth. Since he's on the skinny side I've just been worried about him getting enough so I feed him daily.
Now that he's be 2 in April I'm starting to think he may be really behind on the self feeding.
Are there any other 22-24m LO's still not using utensils?
Do I just need to stop worrying about him eating enough & let him go at it every day, even if he only eats 1/2 of his meal?

DS1 hasn't been using utensils all that long and he doesn't get them at EVERY meal (I try for 1 or 2 meals a day). While they learn utensils they are going to get a bunch of it down their fronts. Just something you'll have to deal with (hard for me). I found Pasta Pick Ups to be a great food to practice using a fork with. Do thicker stuff for spoons.
You could try those Bender utensils by Boon to start out with.
