carseats in a truck

Without an extended cab. do you put your carseat on the end with the airbag off or do you put them in the middle? We put ours on the side but I feel like having it in the truck is so unsafe. We really don't have lo drive in it unless dh is picking him up after work. I hate putting him in there and we plan to get a new car but not for another yr. Any imput?

Re: carseats in a truck

  • The spot for safest placement should be in your owner's manual. It's specific in every vehicle.

  • We have to do this too. I hate it as well, but we really have no choice. DH takes and picks her up from the sitter every day. She sits in the passenger seat with the air bags off, forward facing. It is perfectly legal and safe. I hate it but it's what we have to do.
  • check owners manual but I would say the side where you can turn the airbag off because if its in the middle the drivers airbag may still catch it
