Coughing so much she throws up : (

The last two nights after taking her last bottle, DD has coughed so much that she has thrown up...once on DH and once on me.  Tonight she didn't throw up and DH put her to bed.  She coughed some before she fell asleep.  When I went in to check her a little while ago, there was a damp spot on her mattress, so I am thinking she did it again.

 I took her to the doctor this morning and she has bronchiolitis, but there isn't anything to do besides what we are already doing (saline drops, humidifier, mattress propped etc).

I feel so bad that she has thrown up these three nights.  I don't know why she is only doing it at bed time, maybe just because that is when her cough is the worst?  Anyone else experience anything similar?

Awe, I'm sorry your DD is so sick!  DS is getting over bronchiolitis.  His coughing seems to be worst at night too.  He hasn't thrown up from the coughing, but he's had some pretty scary coughing fits.

I've been taking him into the bathroom and turning on the shower if he starts getting really bad.  It seems to help.

My son did this when he had RSV. In fact, he threw up 95% of everything he ate for a solid week...he lost two pounds. It was awful.

Our pedi said it's a pretty common side effect of RSV/bronchiolitis and there is nothing to be done except to wait it out. 

I hope she's feeling better soon!

Yep - my LO lost a lb in 5 days bc of that - and then got better - then got another cold, and is now doing it again.  We were prescibed an antihistime (sp?) decongestant to help dry him up so he wouldn't throw up everything he ate.  It sucks!  Hope you LO feels better soon!

Thanks ladies!  We have been dealing with this for a few days, so hopefully we are hitting the peak and it will be downhill soon!

DD has been on an antibiotic for a week and was doing this at the beginning. It was mostly mucous coming up.
