My LO has always been swaddled when he sleeps. He sleeps ok - just wakes up 3-4 to eat at night. I wanted to see if he'd sleep better on his tummy. I nursed him until he was drowsy and then laid him on his tummy. He immediately lifted up his head like he does during tummy time. I gave him some time and he eventually fell asleep. I went in to check on him and his face is almost face down. He is breathing fine....but it's freaking me out!
Surely by now a 6 month old can sleep safely on his tummy??
Re: Does your 6 month old sleep on their tummy?
DD has been sleeping on his belly since 5 1/2 months. He can freely roll back and forth (and does all thru the night!).
This.
If you're still swaddling, I'd stop ASAP now that he's rolling back to belly.
GL!
DD has been sleeping on her tummy since 8 weeks. We couldn't get her to sleep otherwise and our pedi knew about it. As long as your LO can lift their head and roll, I wouldn't be super worried. Just check often.
sub 2 wks for 8 and you've got us ....
