Did you have any side-effects? Also, how long did you continue to use a back up with it? I've read one month and up to 3 months. I am trying to decide if I want to start it or just wait a few more months until I wean DD to just use regular BCP again.
Long shot, but if you also take Synthroid (thyroid problems) did you have any issues with your levels in correlation with the mini-pill. TIA (and yes, I plan to talk w/ my Dr first)
Re: If you use(d) the Mini-pill...
I was only on it for about a month. It made my supply tank, so I ditched it.
I also didn't trust it. You have to take it at EXACTLY the same time every day.
I think REOMs Emi was a minipill baby.
DS - December 2006
DD - December 2008
I used it twice - after both of the boys until I was done BF-ing them. I didn't have any noticeable side effects and we didn't use any back up methods (are you supposed to??, lol). You do have to take it at the same time every day so I had a daily alarm set on my phone and kept the pills in my purse so that whenever the alarm went off, I could take the pill even if I wasn't at home. I didn't want to take the risk of forgetting, etc.
I'm having an IUD put it this time around. DD was an oopsie but it was right after I stopped nursing and taking the mini pill - was about to go back on regular bcp. I wanted something that was a little more effective
my read shelf:
This is what I'm afraid of, all of it! I don't think I'd trust using it solo so what's the point. Ugh, I hate making BC choices!
Oh, and I have an Emi too!
