That depends. Can you afford it? If you can, then why not just quit?

Nope.

DH & I figured it out, and we can make it on unemployment (which is why you can't just quit, to answer PPs question).

I have definitely had days where I was hoping I'd get the call....

Not really. As long as the finances work out and the severance is good.

With the right severance package I would be totally ok with it.

Not really, I guess. But I would make sure you have a solid plan in place for when your unemployment runs out. It could be a great time to look at a career change - use your time off for some classes, etc...
