Hi everyone -
Has anyones little one had a hard time pooping and farting quite a bit since starting on milk? My little one has and is always extremely constipated and has painful movements. She tends to go once a day but its always very hard and she has to push very hard to get it out. She eats lots of veggies and fruits and I feed her mostly whole grains.
Has anyone experienced this? And if you have, what did you do about it?
Thanks,
H
Re: Milk and binding up?
DD was always regular until we switched to whole milk at a year. Her constipation was horrible. We gave her prunes, fruits, veggies, more water and nothing helped. She would push and push and cry. The pediatrician told us to give her Mirelax. We used it for a short time and it helped to get her regular again.
Another thing that can help is using a thermometer. If DD is pushing for a while, I will lay her down and put just the tip of the thermometer in. This will often help right away (just have a diaper under him because it will often come out quickly!) We also have children's suppositories on hand for the rare time when none of the above helps.
Thanks Ladies! I really really appreciate it!
We go to the doctor next Tuesday, so I will ask about your suggestions! They're great!
