Independant play time at 6 months...

How much time per day did/does your 6 month old have as 'independant' play time - in a jumperoo/exersaucer/on the mat...wherever....

Re: Independant play time at 6 months...

  • Between 30 & 90 minutes a day depending on the cues she gives me.
  • Loading the player...
  • A couple of hours usually, though obviously not all at the same time.

    ditto

  • Awesome - was worried we were doing too much but he's so happy to play by himself for about 30 minutes at a time...

    Thanks bumpies

  • A few hours.  He loves playing with his toys on the floor.  I usually clean the house during this time so it's not really independent play since I'm constantly walking around him and singing/interacting with him as I clean.

He laughs so hard when I sweep and mop the floor....he thinks it's hilarious for some reason.

  • Depends.   Natalie gets a lot of play time, independently, with me, with DH, or with Olivia.    She never complains or gets fussy playing anywhere - so, a lot of it depends on what Olivia needs at the time, as well.  I guess we don't have set time frames.
  • Yep, DS will do about 30 minutes at a time, maybe three times a day (at home at least, maybe more at daycare?). We usually do two floor-time sessions and maybe once a day either in the exersaucer or jumperoo.

Love this age - independent play but he can't go anywhere yet!

Ditto. DS is great at playing by himself, though we love to play with him, of course!
