Traveling with a 5 Month Old- Help!

What did you take while away from home that you absolutely needed (beside food, clothes, diaper bag, toys, blankets)? Or what did you not bring that you wish you did? (We will be away for a week on vacation to Miami.)

For example, should I bring a travel bed (like a peapod--even though the hotel will give us a crib), the bumpo, the boppy, activity mat, travel swing? 

How did your vacation with your LO go? Any advice?

Well we went away at 2 months so he didnt need as much but we took his PNP.  I dont trust others cribs.  We also took his activity Mat and his boppy.  We chose not to pack diapers, wipes, and extra formula to save room in our bags and we bought all that when we got there.  It made it much easier IMO. 

The Vacation was AWESOME!  We are looking forward to our next trip!

We brought the obvious things like you first suggested, but also a lot of "just in case" items: Tylenol, diaper rash cream. We also got a new travel friendly toy b/c something new is almost always entertaining to a baby.  We didn't bring the boppy b/c I was EPing, not nursing, so if you are still using it for nursing at home then I'd bring it, otherwise I'd leave it at home.

Bring a soft surface to change diapers on. Bring more bottles than you normally use as you may not find a good place to wash them while you are traveling.  If you're going swimming don't forget the special swimming diapers for LO.

Our vacations have gone fine.  Don't bring too much b/c it makes traveling a hassel, just bring the things you use on a daily basis.

We also brought DD's soundmaker that she listens to as she falls asleep, that was a lifesaver. GL and have fun!
