Feeling guilty/ ear infection question

DH just took DD to the pedi.  She's had a stuffy and runny nose for almost a month (we saw the Dr. about it early on, and she wasn't concerned at that point) and a cough for just about a week.  She hasn't had a fever, so we figured it was either allergies (both DH and I have SEVERE allergies and get shots every week) or something that would go away quickly.  So, she isn't any better a week later (still no fever), but we called this morning for an appt. just to check it out.

Here is the part I feel guilty about...she has an ear infection!  I feel like a horrible mommy, but I honestly had NO warning signs she would have had one!  She hasn't been super fussy, hasn't been grabbing her ears (more than usual), no fever, no loss of apetite, no lack of sleep, etc.  Is there something else I should have seen earlier to tell us to take her?  I feel awful, but she really is in good spirits...

My LO has had 5 ear infections already!  He gets one everytime he is teething and there are NEVER any warning signs.  We had to treck out in the Blizzard Wednesday to find out now he has a double infection.  Some gets just get them, but he has been good as gold. 

 I am sorry your LO has to go through this.  Hope she gets better soon!

Don't feel guilty.  You got LO checked early on and there were no obvious signs later on.  She is on her way to healing now

Thank you both!  I hope your LO doesn't get any more!!  I was surprised she didn't have a double one!  I hope your LO feels better as well!
