Whats the difference between Radian XTSL and 80SL?

I can't really tell... is it just that the XTSL has the option to expand the height? Do they both have the same side impact protection?

The XTSL says this: With height-adjustable and aluminum-reinforced head support, steel alloy frame and protective EPS foam, the RadianXTSL provides complete side impact protection

The 80SL says this: With steel alloy frame, reinforced sides and protective EPS foam, the Radian80SL provides complete side impact protection

They use similar but different wording to describe them... the radian is only $30 more so I am gonna get that one, but what the hell is the difference?

Re: Whats the difference between Radian XTSL and 80SL?

  • I have the 80.   It is the same as the 60, just tested to a different weight.  The height limit is the same (weight will not be a problem for my kids).  I can't figure out the difference between the XTLS and the 80, other than the XTSL is the newer model.

  • See the top of the carseat? It's that wing like protection around the sides of the head. The XTSL has True Side Impact Protection which is just a little better than the original 80. The SL is because it has super latch, which means you can use the latch when forward facing (I believe this is the only seat that does this).
