we haven't done "what was your DC almost named?" in a while.

Or what they would have been named if they were the opposite sex?

Jefferson was almost Jacob.  And, if he would have been a girl, he would have been Natalie.

Kate was never any other name.  We couldn't agree on anything else.  She would have been Reid Michael or Reid Joseph.

Re: we haven't done "what was your DC almost named?" in a while.

  • dd would have been Garrison if she were a boy

ds would have been Katherine Louise if he were a girl... other names on the boy list Landon, Jackson, Simon.  Dh shouted out his name (my #1pick, not dh's actually) when the OB raised him up.  lol  fun.

  • We were naming him for my FIL but wavered on if it would be a first name or middle name.  So, he was either going to be Charles Thomas or Nathan Charles.  As they were wheeling me into the OR the nurses asked if he had a name yet and we sorta impulsively decided on Nathan.  I think it was a good choice!

If he was a girl he would have been Elizabeth.

DD was always going to be Elizabeth-it was already decided.

  • P would have been named Lincoln, but at the last minute we decided on Preston.

If he would have been a girl, she would have been named Savannah. (we aren't using that this time around if we have a girl either).

  • Samuel was going to be Luke. The very first thought I had when they showed me my baby was, "that is Sam"

If he was a girl (since we didn't know the sex), she was have been Ruby.

  • Hailey was almost Ella, no boys names

Nathan was almost Hayden, no girls names

Jacob would have been Alexis if he was a girl

  • Evelyn was always Evelyn.  But Charlotte was very close to being named Clara.  We ultimately chose Charlotte because it sounded better with our last name.

We never officially had boys names picked out.

  • I seriously considered Reese and she was almost Ivah but I knew people would butcher it and thought it might sound too made up (even though it was from a baby book).

If she were a boy she would have been Wesley Dean.

  • Our alternates for DD were Julia and Mya

    DS's were Jacob and Adam

  • DD#1 was almost Wilhelmina Mary instead of Catherine Wilhelmina & would have been Nicholas Franklin if a boy

DD#2 would have been Garrison Franklin if a boy (no real alternate girls name, was Caroline Therese from pretty early on).

DD#3 was almost Miriam Jane instead of Merryn Elizabeth & would have been Everett Franklin if a boy

  • DD was almost named Regan or Noelle. DS was always going to be Jason.  I should have named DD Elizabeth because I have called her that many times in my head for some reason.

  • Their first names were a sure thing, but DD's middle name was up in the air for awhile. For DD, we were considering Elisabeth and Elena instead of Isabella.

  • DS was always Cole to me, but DH pushed for Brock right up to the end. If he had been a girl he would have been Eliza Anne.

  • Brooke was going to be Sasha.

If we had a boy, he'd be Ethan.

  • DD was almost Amelia and would have been Emmett if she'd been a boy.

DS was always going to be Sayer if he was a boy and Jillian Claire if he'd  been a girl.

  • We had a list of 8-10 boy & girl names that we brought to the hospital - DD was a surprise, and we waited to meet her to make sure the name fit.  She was never anything else.

With DS he was supposed to be a surprise but an u/s tech gave it away - we were leaning toward Jacob Riley, but it didn't suit him at all.  Then he was Aaron for a day.  He went 3 days nameless until we found the right one.

  • Julia was always going to be Julia.  It's a family name I always wanted to use.  DH and I hadn't agreed on a boy's name for her before the u/s.

Emma was almost Molly (and that's not out of the running if #3 is a girl).  Her "boy name" was Ethan.

  • If Jackson was a girl, he would have been Emma Caroline.

His middle name was between 3 family names: Henry (which we went with), Donald or Thomas.

  • If dh had his first choice, she would have been Lauren Paige.

If I had my first choice she would have had a really italian name like Francesca or Sophia.  Olivia would still be her middle name.

We both loved Madelyn from the start, but hesitated because we have friends whose dd is Madelyn as well.  We asked them, they were fine with it.

If she was a he, Evan Maddox.

  • Both boys would've been Elizabeth (or Elisabeth I guess) if they were girls.....   Ethan named his brother, we had NO first names picked (only middle name), even after we were discharged from the hospital.... so we picked whatever Ethan came up with :)
  • DD1 was *this close* to being Lucy Allen. If she were a boy, she would have been Parker Allen, which would have honored 7 people in our families.

We had a day and half to name the twins. We couldn't decide between Brynn and Cale or Mia and Boston, but we were given a pic and DS just did NOT look like a Boston, even though we had liked those names better.

*The twins have actually had FOUR sets of names since birth!*

  • DS was almost named Nathaniel but FIL was insisting on calling him "Nate" and DH and I nixed the idea because we don't like nicknames.

Then he was almost named Cedric mostly because we were listening to the audio version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at the time and the name was just striking a chord with us. LOL

So we put a vote between Cedric and his name now and his name now won with all the ladies (all the men liked Cedric).

  • If Anthony were a girl he would have been Madison Lynne.

Jackson was almost a Benjamin, and we had Caroline and Julianne as our top girls choices for him.

I have no idea what we will do for #3.

  • Ethan George was nearly Ryan George...up until 2 days before he was born.  My husband brought up the name Ethan and I had actually been thinking about that name too, and after a discussion, that was it.  We didn't pick a girl's name.

  • Bruce or Fisher were the other 2 names we went into the delivery room with.  DH picked the 3rd name.
  • Katherine was almost Caroline

    Claire was almost Charlotte

We never picked a boy name.

  • Lanie was almost Melanie and if she had been a boy, she would have been Cameron.

Ashley would have been Alex if she had been a boy.

We loved Samantha both times around but for varies reasons never used it and Ashley was in the running both times.
