Make sure whatever pants you bring has a waistband that is really loose or has a waistband seam higher than where your incision is (higher than the to of your pubes). I couldn't stand anything rubbing against my incision. Also granny panties helped, too.

Make sure you have enough clothes. I was in the hospital from Monday night to Friday night. Mine wasn't planned so DH had to go home to get me more clothes. Make sure your pants are loose. I used my DH's pj pants. Also the biggest highest underwear you have. All that time in the hospital can get boring too so DH also got some DVD's and computer for something to do after visitors were gone and baby was sleeping.

This. And bring comfy clothes to wear at the hospital. I was much more comfortable in my clothes than the hospital gown.
BFP-11.17.11 Natural miscarriage on 12.2.11 at 7 weeks 1 day -- we will forever love our little angel!
It's a personal preference thing, but because the nurses were checking me so often, I stayed in the hospital gown until the morning I went home. I did wear my own maternity underwear, however. I had a thick, terry cloth bathrobe that I put on to walk the halls. I would take a comfortable pair of slippers (huge to accomodate enormous swollen feet) for walking. Walking will help get the swelling down--and yes, it's normal that you'll still be swollen up to 2 weeks.
Snacks. I know it sounds stupid, but they'll probably only give you 3 meals a day and you'll probably get hungry in between in your BF. I had DH load up on Gatorade and green jello. Don't ask. My cravings were like I was pregnant all over.
You might ask your doctor if they'll be supplying you with a belly binder while you're there. If not, that might be something you'd want to pick up. I loved mine for my first c-section. I put it on to go home from my second and peeled it off when I got home (I just didn't feel like I needed it).
i'd say the same thing as other people......pants that you can tie up above the incision....stay comfy. i just brought flip flops to come home in. they'll provide you w/the mesh undies you need (ask for more when you leave) and pads. good luck!
Get some high waist underwear. I only had low rise that ended too close to my incision causing irritation/discomfort. I had to but some after I came home from the hospital and had no more mesh panties to wear.
Re: c-section mommas
Something soft to go home in -- like yoga pants.
stretchy shoes or slippers, your feet swell (
strechy shoes or slippers, your feet swell like crazy (at least mine did, I felt like a hobbit)
This. My feet were already swollen, so I had some comfy shoes to wear home. It was two weeks before the swelling went down.
