This is what I did. I honestly got to the point where I told myself I had to stop trying to diagnose the problem, accept the child was colicky, and look for ways to soothe him. He wasn't dying, he was just crying his a$$ off for 3 or more hours a day--sometimes 3 hours 3-4 TIMES a day. He had textbook colic. I got the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD from Netflix and followed it to the letter. If he got pissed, we'd switch his location. We swaddled, used a fan for white noise, shushed, used the swing, used the pack-n-play (even on his stomach, yeah, I know, sacrilege!), used the floor mat, the Baby Bjorn--whatever would get him calm and keep him that way. The more tricks we had, the better we did.
