yea...well I was just catching up on all the FB posts from today & someone mentioned the mass GBCBOTB from 2008...

 

If that's what they meant, I can give you a short summary but I don't remember all the details.

Super secret private boards (SSPBs) were created.  People got kicked off for telling non-batcave members about the batcave.  Someone who got kicked off started their own SSPB and there were fights.  Personal info was stolen and used on other sites (I think).  Pictures of people's kids were made fun of.  Everyone went crazy about their privacy being invaded.  Even more SSPBs were created and the invite list got smaller and smaller.  A lot of people just up and left the nestbaby (I don't think it was the bump yet) over all the dramz.  The whole mess was stupid.

ahhh OK...that sounds sort of familiar. I think I was still in lurk-mode during all of that but I know from time to time I've seen the references to the SSPB's...and they're never well recieved.

A certain batcave member's pictures were stolen and if I remember correctly were posted somewhere outside the batcave and the nest.  That person still doesn't post pics of her daughter's face online because of it (and I don't blame her).

ETA: I should have said personal property, not information I guess.
