Babies: 0 - 3 Months

how many weeks was your LO when they didn't have to be held all the time?

i have a ergo carrier which works out great and i do hold her alot because she is so happy when i do. but around how many weeks do they not cry when you put them down to do stuff. I have 2 other kids so i am finding it stressful sometimes -especially bedtime when i have to get the older ones ready for bed and do our night routine and she starts wailing when i put her down to give the boys their one on one time.   dh sometimes works nights so it is just me around.

thanks! amazing how much you dont remember after 2 short years!

  • Probably around 1 month old we could start laying him down and he'd stare at toys and be quiet and not cry long enough for me to get some things done. Now at 2.5 months he spends a lot of time during the day staring in his mirror, "talking" to his mobile, etc. I don't really hold him too much unless I'm feeding him, or right when I get home he gets snuggles since I was gone for 10 hours. LOL.

  • Weeks?  Try months.  I have to hold her ALL. DAY. LONG.  Can't put her down for 2 minutes, or she screams.  And I can't let her scream because then her reflux makes her choke and then it's total meltdown city for at least an hour.  And she' not ok with me sitting while I hold her, I have to walk while holding her.  Which means I'm standing and walking around a 16lb baby for HOURS every day.  My back and feet are crushed.  It seems to be getting worse.
  • Now, mine just started doing this, and I am taking full advantage of it. But if he's wide awake I feel bad and sit next to him and play with him.
