LO's Age--Silly Question

I happened to catch that my ticker says DD is one month old today. I thought that was funny, because in my head, she was one month old on Sunday, when she was four weeks old.

When people ask you how old your LO is, do you go by months or weeks? And if you go by months, do you consider 4 weeks a month, or a different amount?

Re: LO's Age--Silly Question

  • I consider a calender month a month since some months have 5 weeks in it, in the end it is easier to do that way since there would be 13 months in a year if you grouped it into weeks of 4.

When asked, I always give weeks.

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I usually go by weeks but sometimes months comes out of my mouth. And I count the months by the date. Like DS was born on Nov. 14th, so on Dec. 14th he was 1 month, Jan. 14th 2 months, ect.

  • DD was born Friday, November 13th. On the 13th of each month, she is one month, two months, three months, etc. Every Friday she is a week older. This Friday, she will be 13 weeks old, but Saturday she will be 3 months old. It's confusing and weird. I usually just say it in months to strangers because it seems simpler.
