XP- WWYD re: child using drugs?

What would you do if you found out that your minor child was using illegal substances on a regular and consistent basis?

Would your reaction change if they were just using alcohol and/or marijuana versus say, meth?

How would you handle it if they told you that they fully intend to keep using no matter what and would not participate in any sort of drug and alcohol treatment? 

How would you handle it if the culture where you lived was such that most parents didn't care if their children used, or often used with their kids?

This describes my sister. At first my parents grounded her and sent her to counseling/outpatient drug rehab, but this didn't work. She would skip school, not come home so she could go do drugs etc. They contacted a social worker and eventually her behavior got so extreme that they put her into an inpatient rehab facility for teens. This did wonders for her! Not only did they counsel her regarding drugs, but she had alot of intensive therapy for other issues as well (she was adopted after a very abusive childhood). I'm pleased to report that she is doing fantastic, has a full time job, a boyfriend, and started taking online college courses.

As for the pp, I agree to some extent about personal responsibility and accountability, but if they are still living in my house it won't fly. I won't just be "frowning" upon it. Once they move out, then they can make their own mistakes.
