XP from breastfeeding.
Alright.
I am starting to get overwhelmed with all the advice
being given (and me reading!) on parenting methods and breastfeeding.
Now I feel like I am constantly battling myself on how good of a parent
I am, and EVERY person I talk to has a different opinion for
EVERYTHING.
DD was getting really gassy and fussy and it
was terrible for a few days and so I called the pedi...and the nurse
told me I was feeding her too much and causing her upset stomach. Now,
at our one week appt, the pedi had told me to feed on demand. DD is
four weeks now, and the nurse said I should be trying to space her
feedings out every 3-4 hours, and only feed 8 mins on the first side
and 12 on the second. DD was sometimes feeding for an hour, and
sometimes nursing every hour or so, and not ever really napping, since
she was attached all day.
Anyway, I tried that yesterday,
and for most of the day it seemed to work...and she napped. But in the
evening she was SUPER fussy, and making all the open-mouthed hunger
signs. The nurse told me that crying doesn't mean hunger all the time,
nor does the latch-y mouth look...I am just confused as to when I
should feed her based on her cues now. And, how long do you all feed
on each side? How do I know when to increase the time?
Re: XP: So much advice...so confusing!
