If you add trim to a dress or shirt (or I guess pants too), do you sew the sides and then hem the bottom or do you do the trim where the material is doubled and therefore does not need a hem and just sew all the way down.
The reason I ask is that when I doubled my trim and sewed my seam to the bottom you can see a tiny bit of the seam sticking out of the bottom (I am using my serger but I do not think it matters.) I am trying to find a trick to fix this, not sure if I should just go back and angle it and sew across it or if something would work better.
