Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

anyone switch to toddler bed yet?

posted earlier...just want to see if anyone has had this experience and what they did...my ds is 15 mo old and if he's not chewing on his crib, he's getting his legs stuck (they are all bruised), or trying to climb out and looks like he's getting close to succeeding. we have the davinci kalani convertible crib.

the regular bumper we took out a long time ago. the breathable one that fits to the tops of the crib attaches with velcro and he just tears it off. if i did a shorter breathable style, he'd just try to step on it to climb out.

my question...when did you convert to the toddler bed? i hate to do it because he's still a needy little guy at night and doesn't sleep that great- at the same time, i'm sick of these crib issues. is it way too early to switch? if you've done it how did it go?

  • i just did starting thursday because she's climbing out. the first two nights she was up late, then a couple nights went fine. night before last she ended up in my bed. last night was good. basically, it's been random!

she does actually stay in it, surprisingly, but she's crying for me more than she did in the crib.

  • I did at 14 months with my DS. He took to it perfect never got out to play or anything. Would wait til I came and got him. a few months later he would get up to play for 10 mins or so but would lay himself back down. So i didnt see it as much of  a big deal.
