For working moms

Do your LOs have a harder time napping when you are not around? My DH has been taking care of DD for the last two days and he's had a hard time getting her to take a nap. He finally had to lay down in bed with her to get her to sleep today. Normally she'll fall asleep in her swing or I can get her to sleep my holding her and patting her back. I just wonder if maybe she isn't as comfortable with DH and so she has a harder time sleeping. Tomorrow she goes to a sitter for the day and I'm worried that she won't sleep at all tomorrow.

  • No I don't have this problem but I think its funny that you are worried for the sitter.  I was happy to let daycare deal with it if he fussed all day.  However, that did not happen.   I don't really hold my LO to any schedule though I just look for cues that he is tired or hungry or whatever and let him decide when its time to nap and I soothe him as needed.

  • No problems really with my youngest DD... but my older DD seems to be having a bit of trouble transitioning from our house back to grandma's house and napping for her usual 2+ hours... at grandma's it's only been 1.5 hours max since I've gone back to work this time.
