First Birthday Ideas

Just curious what everyone did for their LO's First Birthday.  We are expecting about 50 people and about 7 are kids. What did you do for food? Did you do party favors? Did you plan any activities?  Any cute or unique ideas to make it fun and memorable?

    We had a 1 pm party for ~40.  We did apple slices and peanut butter dip, shrimp dip, fresh salsa 2 homemade soups, sloppy joes, salad, and breads.  For cake I made the baby einstein caterpillar and had chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

    We didn't have any games.  The kids ran and the adults chatted.  I did make little favor bags.  I hit Big Lots and found bubbles, pencils, erasers, stickers, and other little bits.  Cost about $5 total.

    We had about 25 people with 4 kids.  We didn't do any activities.  Our party was mostly people come, they eat, drink, chat, catch up, eat some more, cake, open presents, eat/drink some more.  Adios!

    Food we did taco dip, deviled eggs, veggie tray, blt dip, chicken, mini ruebens, mini muffalettas, coleslaw, pasta salad, sangria type punch, cupcakes for dessert :)
