11 mos old on skiis?

Re: 11 mos old on skiis?

  • I guess I don't find it too concerning...coming from Colorado and all :)

    It's part of life here!

  • We did it at that age. I can not tell from the picture, but with ours you just wore your regular boots and there was a metal spring that went around and held your boot in. If you fell your boot popped out. My parents would put a rope around us and pull us around on flat ground. It really is not any more dangerous than a child walking. We did not go down any hills or gain any speed, but we enjoyed being pulled around.
  • dd has been on skiis and gone to ski school :)  how else are they supposed to learn? i'm NM and spent my winters in CO - i was on skiis super early.

i'm a snowboarder and dh is a skiier - i can't WAIT to get her on a snowboard, but she'll have to be a bit older for that.

  • I think it's cute! It's not like the stuck downhill skis on the kid and pushed him down the hill. They're cross country skis and he's on flat surface- and right next to his parents. Less dangerous than sledding Wink
  • I'm not at all against it... I plan to have DS skiing soon :) but he's just sooo little. I love this pic though... going to be a great story when he gets older!

He's doing a good job, my son would have kicked them off before the picture was taken.

  • i think it's great! DD couldn't walk at 11 months though. next winter we're putting her on skiis. :) i grew up skiing & went to ski schools really young as well. I def want DD to be comfortable on the the mountain at a young age.
