LOs with curly and/or dry hair, come in

What do you use to wash and condition your lo's hair?  I wash ds's night normally every night with his bath, but I'm noticing that it is starting to get a little dry.  I haven't been using any conditioner either.  Thankfully, his hair isn't as super curly and frizzy as his momma's, but it's starting to get a little dry.  Any recs?

  • I brush her hair into a frizz before the bath. Wash with reg baby shampoo and then when she gets out I don't brush is but run my fingers through with baby lotion. Seems to be working okay.

  • Dd has my spanish curly hair haha I use products for curly hair and a leave in conditioner that also detangles. That seems to help

  • DD has boingy curly hair that is dryer in front than anywhere else, but looks very unruly if we don't put anything in it unfortunately. We use the Herbal Essense line for curly/wavy hair (including the jar of pomade type stuff that we put in while her hair is still wet and after we've combed it out).

She's good about closing her eyes when we rinse her hair and all so no probs so far with stinging eyes.

  • I wash her hair every other night rather than every night and use aveeno baby body wash/shampoo.  Afterwards, I put a healthy amount of Johnsons leave in conditioner (green tube) and blow dry on low.

If it wasn't cold, I wouldn't blow dry and just let it air dry.

  • I wouldn't wash it every night. That can be rather drying. I us CA baby every few days and his hair doesn't feel dry. I also use Carol's Daughter hair smoothie to add some conditioning.

  • DDs hair gets really frizzy in the back, so I got some product made for curly hair that moisturizes. We just shampoo with her normal baby stuff (Aveeno all over wash) and then put in the product while her hair is still wet and it has worked wonders! I think the product is Garnier curl sculpting cream or something like that.

  • when DS had his long curly hair, i would just wash it with his burts bees baby shampoo.  after he got out i put a little dallop of my leave in conditioner (fructise (sp?) sleek and shine or whatever). worked like a charm!
