Discuss amongst yourselves. I really like the name but I'm having a hard time loving it. It's unique and beautiful but so far from the sweet, little girl name that I imagined. I keep coming back to it though. I find nicknames endearing and I can't think of anything that would come from Sloane. DH says we'll make our own that's unrelated. What do you think? Is it a name that will be ok for a little one and grow with her?
(ETA: Natalie and Olivia are my front runners. Yes, I know...popular. They're beautiful though and I like them! I'm still trying on others and Sloane is floating around in my brain.)
Re: Sloane....
I love Sloane--my fav girl's name but I can't use it b/c of our last name and my hubby is not on board.
I love Natalie too but am over Olivia --although I love the nn Livy.
I hope you use Sloane
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the name Sloane for a girl!
I would use it in a heartbeat if it wasn't so ridiculously rhyme-y with our last name!
I don't think Sloane sounds pretty at all. I am not a fan.
My favorite from your choices is Olivia.

I LOVE the name Sloane- it was at the top of my list but my DH strongly dislikes it. I do see how it can be kind of a strong name for a little girl and so it would be nice to have a cutesy nn for when the girl is young- but I think nn's just naturally develop.
This name makes me think of the Sloane from Entourage who is gorgeous!

The character Mark Sloane & his daughter Sloane from Grey's Anatomy comes to mind when I hear the name.
I think Natalie and Olivia are great classic names.
This. I like it, but I definitely see the cute, popular girl who wants to skip school with her boyfriend. :-)

I think this name is hideous. Sorry.
Natalie and Olivia are much better choices, IMO.
