I just got a new SLR camera (Nikon D60) for my Bday and I really love it. I would love to take a photography class soon so I can learn how to take beautiful pics (like Punk's), but I just don't have the time now. Do you have any simple tips that I can use to help my pics come out a little better? I love the way the pics turn out when we're outside, but haven't been impressed with indoor pics so far - I have noticed that turning off the flash when we're inside makes the indoor pics better, but I'm obviously missing something else because they just don't have the color saturation or softness that I'm looking for.
Thoughts?
TIA!
Re: Camera question for Punk and other photographers...

lol thank you for the compliments
indoor pics need a speedlight if you dont have enough light. that you you aren't directly flashing onto your subject, but are bouncing off something else to give the illusion of a light filled room.
I have the same camera. I am taking a continuing education class and this is the book they recommended:

Congrats on bday gift!
I'm working on this as well as other bumpies on the photography board.
