So I was told that I can travel up till about 36 weeks. Scheduled two trips one on the 11th and one on the 17th but wanted to be pro-active and get a doctors note since some airlines would require it. When I called the OB to get a note, they strongly recommened that I not travel after 32 weeks.
So now I have to tell my boss that I have to cancel the two trips I had planned. Oh boy.... wish me luck.
Re: Traveling while pregnant....
Do you have any risk factors that made them say no travel after 32 weeks? If not, I think that seems really overly cautious since most docs are okay with travel until 35-36 weeks.
I'd get some clarity from your OB before canceling on your boss.
(read it. you know you want to.)

This... I'm traveling to Hawaii next week for our Babymoon and asked for a Dr.'s note at my last appointment. My OB said I didn't need one but she would write it if it eased my mind. She said Airlines can't require you to bring a note and don't have any regulations regarding pregnancy. I even looked it up on the airlines I was flying. All this to say, I have a note with knowing I won't need it.
I have to travel for work once a month and it's usually day trips... Although it's very early in the 3rd trimester for me (will be 29 weeks this Wed.) I have decided not to travel any more. My last trip (2 weeks ago) was hard! I flew 3 hours in the a.m from NY to Minneapolis, had my meeting and flew back the same day... then had to go in to work the next morning. It's a rough schedule when I was not preggers but now... I felt like a truck had run over me...can't do that anymore so I just told my office that was my last trip. They can conference me in if need be... your place of employment should not give you a hard time if your OB suggested you not fly.
First and foremost - check with your doc like the other ladies suggested and check the airline's website - they all have different policies/requirements about flying when pregnant. Needless to say some are more flexible than others...
