it's actually an Old name. not made up. I personally wouldn't use it, but I think it's pretty!
Meaning: Its source is an Old English expression meaning "A bailiff or administrative officer."
Narrative: This name may have originated as a local name for someone who lived near a ''bailey'' (a city fortification). Or it might derive from beg leah, meaning wood clearing.

i plan to name my first daughter bay but i think bayla sounds tacky. i guess because it reminds me, like pp said, of all the kayla/ cayla/ etc. names. i don't like names that sound trendy.

I've heard this name a few times called out in the park (I know that probably sounds random). I actually don't mind it. It's nms, but I think it's cute.
Re: I heard a new girl name at a party yesterday. WDYT?
Were people drinking at this party?
I think it's a bad version of a very overused Kayla.
